Technology
LabNow's universal platform is capable of performing cellular and molecular assays with accuracy and precision in a point-of-care format. The core technology can be leveraged and modified to detect and monitor analytes critical to applications in homeland security, environmental chemistry, and process engineering as well as medical applications including tests for CD4, viral load, hemoglobin, liver function, and a wide range of infectious diseases. Initial investigations of testing for cancer detection assays and cardiac risk factor measurements have revealed high sensitivity and good correlation with results from currently accepted testing methods. A further advantage is that the LabNow sensor technology allows selective detection of specific analytes in saliva, eliminating the need for more invasive procedures required with blood tests. Medical applications of our sensor technology will enter the point-of-care segment, the fastest growing segment in the $42 billion IVD market, which is projected to grow to $58 billion by 2012.
